Leave it at home
While you are welcome to bring coolers and picnics into Hagan Park, there are some items that park rules require you leave at home when visiting the 25th Annual Rancho Cordova Fourth of July. They include:
- No alcoholic beverages may be brought into the park. This is a park rule, and on the Fourth of July, it is enforceable by county ordinance, as well. A new state law also prohibits alcoholic beverages on the American River at Hagan Park during the Fourth July holiday period.
- An exception to the rule is the Fourth of July Beer Garden. There, special permits have been granted to allow the sale of alcohol to patrons July 3-4. Like a family restaurant, children are allowed to join their parents at a table in our Beer Garden during the day. But after 6 p.m., it's adults only.
- Ka-Boom! Please, leave the fireworks to the professionals; leave your personal fireworks at home. The Rancho Cordova Fourth of July boasts one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in northern California. Enjoy the show, but do not stage one of your own. For the safety of the thousands of people who will be in the park, personal fireworks are strictly prohibited in Hagan Park at the Fourth of July festival.
- Music, music, everywhere. The Rancho Cordova Fourth of July is proud to present the finest musical entertainment in the region during this year's two-day festival. When it comes time to share a picnic area or a grassy lawn for fireworks with others, please be a good neighbor and dial down the volume on your personal radio or musical device.
- Leave Fido home. Fireworks are scary for family pets. There will be thousands of people and lots of exploding fireworks. Please, leave your pets where they will be safe and happy: at home.
Land of Liberty!

Rancho Cordova hosts its annual backyard barbecue Friday and Saturday, July 3-4, at Hagan Park, located along the beautiful American River.
A green oasis along the famous American River Bike Trail, Hagan Park is always a favorite place for a family picnic for both residents of Rancho Cordova and those who come to visit.
But each year at the Fourth of July, Hagan Park is transformed into exciting festival grounds. White fences embroider the edges of fun, once-a-year activities. A carnival moves in where baseball is normally played. Pedal boats appear on the Hagan Park ponds, and tents pop up everyplace.
This year's celebration marks our 25th year! Of joining together for our favorite party: Rancho Cordova Fourth of July!
