Reconnect at Beer Garden
Grab some shade and kick back a little at the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Beer Garden, presented by the Cordova High School Class of 1979.
It's been almost three decades since this group of Lancers was learning Algebra and playing football at Cordova High School, but many have kept in touch. Each year, they come together again with friends to present a Beer Garden experience where new friends become old friends and old friends reconnect.
This year is really special for this group of Lancers. They are preparing for their 30th Class Reunion, which falls just a couple of days after the big Fourth of July celebration.
The money they raise at the Beer Garden not only helps pay for many of the amenities of the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July, it also is used to purchase some "extras" for their Alma Mater, like benches and picnic tables for students.
Beer Garden rules during the day are like any family restaurant, with children welcome to join their parents in the shade and watch all the happenings at the Fourth of July festival.
After dark, the action shifts to the Beer Garden in the concert venue. After 6 p.m., it's "adults only" in the Beer Garden.
The Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Beer Garden is the only exception to the "no alcohol" rule that exists in Hagan Park. So, if it is a cold beer, cool glass of wine or frosty Margarita you crave, c'mon in! The Class of 1979, and other Cordova High School alumni are standing by, ready to serve... and reconnect.

Rancho Cordova "Battle of the Bands" winner: Reckless Abandon
Fame has come quickly for the five members of local band “Reckless Abandon”. The band recently won the Rancho Cordova Recreation and Park District’s “ Battle of the Bands” competition and has been playing local gigs every weekend since. The 5 members of Reckless Abandon all attended St. John Vianney Catholic School in Rancho Cordovva. Tom Bagley, music teacher at SJV suggested the rock band and these 5 talented young musicians took it from there. The band features Caleb Nunes on drums, Austin Bobo on lead guitar/vocals, Stephen Cotta as lead vocals/guitar, Jordan Lafferty on bass/keyboard and Dolan Jones on guitar/bass/vocals.
